bras apartment, barcelona
A minimal operation designed to maximize its impact. This is probably the best way to summarize the intervention in this apartment of little less than 60 m2 that is located on the corner of two streets of
the Clot district, in
Barcelona.
Initially composed of three bedrooms, the owner had already removed one of them to expand the living-dining area, while she had allocated another one to the ironing and storage area. The resulting floor, however, had an irregular geometry that created blind spots in the living-dining room, was oversized in terms of storage and did not avoid the excessive length of the corridor.
The operation that has been carried out through this project reorganizes the bathroom of the apartment in order to create a generous and regular living room, while moving the dining room to an intermediate point of the dwelling and transforming a passing area into a useful one.
The lower ceiling in the dining room, the various colours used for the walls and ceiling, the use of translucent glass doors or the creation of a frosted glass opening between the dining room and the bathroom, give rise to relations between the various spaces that enrich it significantly.
